Whenever I learn about a new UTM device (or next generation firewall, secure network gateway, etc.), I’m amazed that there is yet another one. Some of these are well known, but others I’ve never seen in the wild. How many of these companies are making money right now? Here is a first stab at listing every UTM company or device out there. If you have others, email them to me or leave a comment. I’ll be adding to this list as I learn about new ones. If you have any experience or opinions about any of them, I would be interested in hearing that too.
In (pretty much) random order:
Secure Computing’s Secure Firewall and SnapGear
Checkpoint UTM (These are really Crossbeam boxes)
Calyptix AccessEnforcer (thank you Jamie)

My company uses a curiuos appliance for filtering spams. Amazingly it does so much better than those i heard before like cyberoam and panda. I only found out its called “Armadillo Anti-Spam” when i got a report from that appliance on those spams filtered. -Lee

I just signed up with O2Security and they have a very full line of point and utm solutions. The utm actually has free av+idp updates, haven’t tried that one but the Email Gateway is very robust.

Sir, I am doing a research on the UTM devices and I have to check for the acceptability of the Cyberoam in the Security Market.Sir I have found out there is a lot of price difference in the products offered by the different competitors though this should not have been the case as the market is price sensitive. Also i have visited the various partners in the market but not been able to deduce much out of it. Sir can anyone throw some light on how i should i go about it.

Guys, I am currently using WatchGuard for my call center and I’m having memory utilization issues. Now people are telling me this is an issue with getting a UTM instead of of having a firewall separate from other anti-x applications.
I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on this.
